The Library has taken part in the BBC Northern Ireland part of the initiative called A History of the World. A unique partnership between the BBC, the British Museum and museums across the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland joined the celebration of objects which have a story to tell or local significance and global resonance. Initially 25 objects were included from Northern Ireland, and the Library submitted two of them. Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift and The Annals of the World by James Ussher may be viewed with all the other objects on the website www.bbc.co.uk/ahistoryoftheworld
