Funding Success - posted 23 December 2009 The Library has succeeded in gaining funding for the restoration and new use of its property at 5 Vicars' Hill - the former Registry. Work began in November 2009 on the restoration of the 18th century building and it is anticipated that it will be completed in October 2010. The next stage will be the design and interpretation of both the building and items to be on display to the public.
The plan is to have the former Registry building open to the public as the first place to visit on the Hill of Armagh. The Library is very grateful for the financial support from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. |
